This momma’s styling is out of this world for her little wild thing!! The darling theme and styling was all mom using the book Where The Wild Things Are. Look at the details she included: tent, greenery, lantern, fuzzy blanket, crate, cake stand, wood cake topper, tail, fuzzy crown and even his overalls! They all fit the theme perfectly!
She wanted an outdoor feel so we snuck over to the red rocks to find the perfect spot. CBJ & Co did the cake, of course! Lucky for us, grandma was there to help! Having a familiar face can be such a benefit for me in a shoot like this where mom is keeping tails and crowns where they should be. We were all on the keep dirt and grass out of the cake and out of his mouth duty. Heehee I love the wild thing theme that she has going.
Every mom knows their baby best to know if additional items are a distraction for their little one or will enhance the feel of the session. I always encourage them to bring any props they want and we can work them in. A favorite lovey stuffed animal (or we call them “friends” at our house), a special blanket or just a toy they love at this age.
It’s always best to think ahead for birthday shoots. Start planning your theme so you have time to order any props you might need. If you are the simpler type, the studio with naked cake might be all you need.
