When this couple asked me to come to take winter shots in Bryce Canyon, I was ecstatic!! What a gorgeous setting during the winter! Then the more I learned about them, I was even more excited. They are the sweetest couple, on a road trip out west looking for adventure. They spent time at many different national parks, hiking, exploring and just enjoying each other. It reminded me a lot of when I was first married and our responsibilities were small and manageable.
I made a family weekend out of it and stayed at the historic Ruby’s Inn at Bryce Canyon. The girls and I went ice skating for the first time and played in the snow. Snow and ice are a fun novelty for us St George gals to enjoy. 😉 We love the shops at Ruby’s and my kids always find something fun in the gift shop.
The afternoon of the shoot, the park was busy busy! Lots of winter visitors hiking the beautiful trails. We choose the Sunset trail and headed out. These guys are avid outdoor adventurist and were so kind as I huffed and puffed while we hiked. Man, I’m out of shape!! The trails were a bit icey but we managed and loved the beautiful red rocks surrounded by clouds of white snow. Their black and neutral colors made for a great contrast with the setting.
If you haven’t been there in a while, plan a trip! It is a beautiful spot! I love going up there and would love to plan a trip there with you! Contact me in advance so we can make arrangements.
