Another wonderful extended family spending time together for the holidays. I’m always so jealous of these large families who come together to play and enjoy each other! We have the benefit of most of our family living close, but that also means that we work, live and breathe other things and are often distracted. I love the idea of being together AWAY and just focusing on the people that mean so much to us. I love hearing stories about growing up, silly moments and how they all relate to each other.
So cheers to all of you who plan reunions and get together’s that allow you to embrace your families! If you have been considering it and have yet to make it happen, DO IT! It’s a lot of work, but so worth it! We never know what tomorrow brings and even if you can get 80% of them there, it’s time well spent. If you need help with local lodging, activities, restaurants or anything else, just holler!! I’d love to point you to the best options in Southern Utah.
- Choose a date that works for MOST of your family-consider school holidays, work schedules and cost
- Book a place to stay. Southern Utah is a hub for weekend traffic with tournaments, conventions and shows of all kinds. So book at least 3-6 months in advance to house everyone together. Here’s a link to our local VRBO listings if you’d rather rent a home for your stay.
- Plan adventures and activities. Are you planning to hike Zion? Will you be swimming at the Washington Community Center? Looking to go to a show at Tuacahn or Brighams Playhouse? There are fun things to do for all ages so plan ahead.
- Book your family photos. Now that you have your calendar of events, make sure to book your photos to fit that date. 3-6 months in advance is about the right time to ensure you can get the date you want.
Then enjoy your wonderful extended family!! I hope to see you when you are here!
